Spare Tyre uses and makes theatre that enables voiceless communities and individuals to share and celebrate their untold stories transforming lives and challenging social prejudice.

Spare Tyre’s history of producing bold and powerful theatre that inspires and challenges communities, artists and audiences stretches over thirty years.

Currently Spare Tyre has two main areas of activity:
- Elders Theatre Community: creative work with older people
- inc.Theatre: creative work with adults with learning disabilities.

Spare Tyre is in the process of researching and developing work with further communities:
- older people with dementia
- adults with complex disabilities
- women with experience of war, trafficking, prostitution and domestic violence

Spare Tyre works intensively with people who have a wide range of disabilities such as dementia, autism, physical and sensory impairments, mental health, downs syndrome, seizures.

The company actively trains, works with and manages artists, production staff, administrative staff and volunteers.
