Because we’re worth it! is an important national Summit exploring and celebrating the value of participatory arts.
Participatory arts have the power to change people’s lives for the better; provide connections, experiences and rich stories.
The UK’s participatory arts scene is constantly changing, innovating, developing, celebrating, exploring and recording fantastic and ground breaking work.
Contributors confirmed so far are Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of The RSA, Toby Lowe from Helix Arts, The Consortium of Participatory Arts Learning, The Baring Foundation, Staffordshire University and ArtWorks.
This is a call to everyone working in, with or around the participatory arts to come and be counted and engage with what promises to be one of the most influential events of the year.
The Summit will provide 2012’s platform to network, find out more and exchange practice. There is a rich story which needs to be told to a wider audience. The Summit will unearth the stories, skills and shared values that lie behind our practice as participatory artists.
This national Summit is being hosted as a collaboration between mailout.co - the UK’s national online resource for participatory arts and connectedculture, the London based network celebrating adult participatory arts.
connectedculture is a Spare Tyre initiative.
