Spare Tyre offer bursaries for interns

Show all news stories

Spare Tyre is fulfilling a longstanding ambition by offering financial support to people undertaking our Internships.

We are grateful to the Baring Foundation for funding our Spare Parts programme, allowing us to fund up to 4 bursaries a year.

We are delighted to have recruited 2 interns to assist Director Arti Prashar during the development of our new production Still Life Dreaming, appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe this Summer.

Spare Tyre recognises Internships can be a vital entry point for emerging artists and arts administrators, and that unpaid Internships are financially unsustainable for many, and so limiting the diversity of the arts industry.

Our two new interns, Saba Burali and Ida Casilli will work full time on Still Life Dreaming, co-produced with the Wellcome Trust to celebrate their 75th year. Saba and Ida will focus on the artistic and production side of the project. They will support the cast of performers aged 60+, gaining an understanding of Spare Tyre’s way of working with vulnerable adults focussing on their skills and abilities and enabling the full potential of the performers.

If you are interested in funding a Spare Parts bursary in the future, please get in touch.
