The Garden: Open Afternoon
16 October, Aberdeen, Scotland
Be inspired by Spare Tyre’s immersive artistic installation for people with dementia and their carers, The Garden. Open to the public for the first time and premiering at care homes and health centres in Aberdeen this autumn as part of Luminate: Scotland’s creative ageing festival, Spare Tyre invites you to experience The Garden as we bring the outdoors in.
The Garden: Open Afternoon was an opportunity to experience this creative and multisensory approach to engaging with people with dementia. The Garden uses non-verbal methods and is responsive to participants, bespoke to an individual’s mode of communication, physicality and engagement. This open afternoon was an opportunity for people with or caring for people with dementia to experience how the arts can improve the wellbeing of people with dementia.
Date: Friday 16 October
